Befrienders Required
Leonard Cheshire Disability’s ‘Can Do’ Project are looking for enthusiastic and reliable people to be befrienders to enhance the lives and opportunities of local disabled people.
We are currently looking for:
1. Radio Volunteer Buddy- a person with an interest in radio and disability who could support a young man to continue volunteering at Somer Valley fM radio. The buddy would ideally be able to commit to volunteering at least once a fortnight, preferably more. in different locations in and around Timsbury. A driver is preferred and travel expenses, support and training would be given.
2. Children’s Volunteer Buddy – a woman living locally would like a female buddy to drive and accompany her once a month whilst she volunteers at an after school club, to keep her company and give her encouragement. Travel expenses, support and training would be given.
