Bus Uncertainty

Residents at Greenvale Timsbury have enlisted the help of District Councillor Doug Deacon (Independent Timsbury) amid fears that there could be changes to the 768 bus service when the present contract ends later in the year. Local resident Bridget Hopkins a regular user of the service is concerned that the route will change and therefore limit passengers’ destinations such as visits to Paulton Hospital, Bloomfield Care centre, and Elm Hayes Surgery.

She said, “This is a vital service for those of us who live at Greenvale. There are a number of older people living in the estate and it is not easy to get to the main part of the village. We are very worried that when new tenders go out the bus route might be drastically altered and we want to get our views across at an early stage.”

Residents met with Councillor Deacon to discuss the issues and to hand him representations from them.

He said, “I hope this service remains the same after consultation as the 768 service is an important lifeline for residents”
