Timsbury Youth Club

Until 1926, the property was used as a furniture store for local sale, when the wooden building was bought by the Y.M.C.A. who added a steel frame and block construction.

 During the Second world war, American soldiers who were stationed at Kingswell Hall would arrange dances, much to the delight of local young ladies, and regular cinema shows on a Friday evening continued well into the 1960′s.

 

 

 

The Youth Club we know were functioning immediately post war, but it was only in the late 1970′s that a formal lease was taken up with the Y.M.C.A.
