Bath City Blacks U10s 1 Timsbury Athletic U10s 4

Unlike the weather at Lansdown on Sunday morning, this match was played brightly throughout.  Bath grabbed the very early initiative kicking down the slope but stout defending by Stockinger and O’Sullivan, in front of the ever reliable Wilcox in goal, prevented the home side from taking the lead.

Timsbury then began to come more into the game  through strong midfield tackling by Graham and Wills.and several good passing moves ended in chances for Taylor and Hawkins but none were converted. It was eventually Bath who broke the deadlock.

After winning a corner from a breakaway move, the ball was sliced into his own goal by the unfortunate Neilson. Timsbury pressed and using the full width of the pitch deservedly levelled through a sharp finish from Hawkins after clever passing from Neilson and a cross from Taylor.

Both sides made changes in personnel at the half way mark but the pattern of the match remained the same, Timsbury on top but Bath often dangerous on the break. It was Wilcox for Timsbury, now outfield, who started a good passing move which led to Wills scoring and putting Timsbury ahead.  2-1 quickly became 3-1 when Chambers found the net beating the home keeper from close range.

Timsbury created many chances in the final minutes and Wightman finished off the scoring, being the quickest onto the loose ball after a good save but fumble from the Bath keeper.

Timsbury Under 11s  8  Frome Town Youth 0

Timsbury eventually ran out comfortable winners against a spirited and competitive  Frome side.

The first half saw both sides struggle to control the ball in a congested and frenetic midfield. When Timsbury did put some good moves together it was the final ball  that let them down along with several fine saves from the Frome goalkeeper.

Frome proved dangerous on the break and it took several good saves from goalkeeper Glover to keep them at bay.Timsbury eventually broke through when a Makcombe shot rebounded off the goalie into the net.

The second half saw Timsbury move up a gear against a tiring Frome side. They increased their lead following a good move between Archer and Bond-Kendall which saw the latter`s low drive well saved, but Jeffery followed up to tuck away the rebound. Makombe  then added a third.

Frome continued to prove dangerous on the break as the home side pushed forward and were unlucky not to score on several occasions  hitting both the bar and post and bringing goalkeeper Glover into action on numerous occasions. However, Timsbury continued to dominate and.Jeffery went on to complete his hat-trick  including a fine individual goal ,Bond-Kendall added to the total when he broke down the right to finish with a powerful cross shot. Makcombe then demonstrated his finishing ability when he wriggled into the box to add two more and complete the scoring.
